Approximately twenty-five thousand homes in south-east Queensland woke up experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after severe thunderstorms passed over the area, bringing wind gusts hitting 109km/h.
Massive Ice Stones and Widespread Damage
Locals observed giant hailstones reaching sizes of 7 centimeters in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that multiple regions across Queensland had been affected by significant hail.

Victorian Storm Challenges

Rescue organizations responded to 598 calls for help across the state, primarily for building damage but also for collapsed vegetation and flooding.

During the peak on Sunday, over twenty-eight thousand power users in Victoria were without power.
Climate Outlook
Damp conditions were forecast to persist along large portions of the state's eastern regions this coming days as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.
The following day was forecast to be the heaviest precipitation period, with continued storm activity anticipated across multiple regions of both regions.
Health Warning
Public health experts warned that there was an higher risk of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the countryside regions, specifically given the ongoing climate situation.
This warning comes after past events where analogous circumstances led to substantial respiratory problems in the area.
